Auto Safety Policy
The Nature Conservancy is committed to ensuring the highest standards of auto safety for all employees, volunteers, and partners who operate vehicles on behalf of the organization. All TNC drivers are expected to maintain a valid license and satisfactory driving record. Hiring and continued employment are contingent upon adhering to all program requirements related to vehicle use and safety.
If you are applying for a position for which driving is an essential function, your background screening will include review of your Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) if available. Final job offers are contingent upon a satisfactory driving record. An offer may be revoked if the MVR shows a high-risk classification over the past three years. Examples of violations that would trigger a high-risk classification include, but are not limited to:
- Driving under the influence (DUI/DWI)
- Reckless driving
- Three or more moving violations
- Suspended or revoked license
